The Navigator

This new body of artwork is a story about being lost in translation, a story that can only happen when someone from one place relocates to another place.  A confusion of coded culture and semantics rather than spoken language. Perhaps a dictionary alone is not enough to find meaning and direction.  This collection of eight short stories, with recurring themes and narratives, carefully examines issues of gender, identity, relationships, and migration. (More artwork to be added soon).

“…there are two texts which simply alternate; you might almost believe they had nothing in common, but they are inextricably bound up with each other, as though neither could exist on its own, as though it was only their coming together, the distant light they cast on one another, that could make apparent what is never quite said in one, never quite said in the other, but said only in their fragile overlapping.”

(Georges Perec, W or The Memory of Childhood.)
